CREEL Terms of Service

Effective date: August 25, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the CREEL mobile app and service ("CREEL"), operated by CREEL APP LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. By creating an account or using CREEL, you agree to these Terms and to the CREEL Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CREEL. We confirm your age (birth year) at sign-up — or, if you first sign in through a third-party provider such as Google, on your first sign-in — and refuse, or immediately delete, accounts for anyone under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use CREEL only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

3. Your content and the license you give CREEL

You keep ownership of the catches, photos, comments, messages, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). To operate CREEL, you grant CREEL a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process Your Content for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy — including running the app, showing feeds and groups you choose, catch verification, moderation, and (where you have given consent) building North Carolina fishery stock assessments and developing CREEL's own catch-recognition model.

You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate the law or anyone else's rights.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CREEL to:

5. Reporting, moderation, and enforcement

CREEL provides in-app tools to block users and to report posts, comments, profiles, and messages. Reports go to our moderation team. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We may keep audit records of moderation actions as described in the Privacy Policy. Reporting is anonymous to the person reported. For anything you cannot resolve in-app, contact steve@creel-app.com.

6. Sharing, location, and consent

7. Tournaments and verification documents

If you enter a tournament, you may be asked to submit a government photo ID and a fishing/captain's license or pier pass for one-time human verification. These images are used only to review your entry and are deleted after the review decision; we retain the yes/no result and an audit record, not the images. Do not submit documents that are not yours.

8. Forecasts, conservation info, and no guarantee

CREEL's fishing forecasts, bite-time predictions, and stock-assessment views are informational — a guide, not a guarantee — and are not a substitute for your own judgment or for official fishery data. Keeper-size and conservation information in the app is provided for convenience and is not legal advice: you are responsible for knowing and following the fishing regulations and license requirements that apply to you.

9. Service changes and availability

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue parts of CREEL. We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

10. Termination

You may stop using CREEL and delete your account anytime from your profile. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. content license for already-processed data, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

CREEL is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CREEL and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the service. [Specific caps and carve-outs to be set by counsel.]

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold CREEL and its operators harmless from claims arising out of Your Content or your violation of these Terms or the law, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Venue / arbitration / class-action terms to be determined by counsel.]

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; we will change the effective date and, for material changes, notify you in-app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
